Professor Christine Beveridge, will present a seminar titled 'The ARC CoE for Plant Success in Nature and Agriculture'. The ARC CoE for Plant Success in Nature and Agriculture will make significant advances in the emerging fields of evolutionary systems biology (how plants work and evolve) and predictive analytics (mathematics) to deliver novel strategies for improving ecosystem management, crop resilience and yield.

Dr Elizabeth Ross is a research fellow with the Centre for Animal Science at QAAFI. Dr Ross will present a science seminar 'Genomic predictions using data from the sheep microbiome', based on a recently published article in the Journal of Animal Science.

Associate Professor Daniel Cozzolino is a food chemist and leader in food traceability linked to provenance. Daniel will present a seminar linked to a recently published research paper 'Authentication, provenance and traceability in fish and seafood by means of vibrational spectroscopy'.

This workshop will examine the key features of the new Queensland biodiscovery law and the impact it might have for researchers, scientists, plant breeders, and Indigenous Peoples.

The supply of smashed ‘avo’ is secure for generations after world-first research cryopreserved the tips of avocado shoots and then revived them to create healthy plants. QAAFI PhD student Chris O’Brien will present an update on his PhD research titled 'Cryopreservation of avocado shoot tips'.
