GrazingFutures and Northern Gulf Resource Management Group (NGRMG) would like to introduce Dr Geoffry Fordyce, Senior Research Fellow from the Centre for Animal Science, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation.

Improving cow fertility and reducing cow and calf losses in the North. Join Dr Geoffry Fordyce, as he discusses common breeding herd problems and effective solutions.

Dr Fordyce has four decades of experience conducting research into north Australia's beef industry and applying the outcomes of this research to real beef businesses. He has studied many aspects of both female and bull fertility, from detailed physiological research through to the economics of application of research outcomes to industry practice. 

Topics to be discussed at the event include: 

  • Performance verse production of breeding cattle.
  • Answering - 'Is my herd up to scratch and what can be improved?'
  • Common breeding herd problems and effective solutions.
  • Getting bull power right.
  • Weaning, heifers, calf husbandry, etc ..... the science behind answers to your questions! 
  • Applying genetic improvement to breeding herds.
