Established in 2012 by Professor Ala Tabor, this competition is hosted by QAAFI's Centre for Animal Science. In previous years the competition has attracted more than 26 participants, both research higher degree students and early career researchers in animal science from different UQ Schools and Institutes, CSIRO, the Qld Department of Agriculture & Fisheries and others.

The competitors present their research across many broad areas of animal science including koala healing, rumen microbiology and bovine genetics.

The future of Australia’s meat and livestock research is in safe hands, if Beef Central’s observations from last Friday’s Animal Science Poster Olympics event held at the University of Queensland are any indication.

Over 50 people attended the 6th Animal Science Poster Olympics 2021 at The University Queensland on Friday 19 February 2021.
Animal science researchers from UQ, QUT and CSIRO exhibited 27 posters and delivered presentations to 14 industry judges during the event.
