Hundreds of delegates from 40 countries representing research, industry and government will attend the fifth TropAg at the Royal International Convention Centre in Brisbane, Australia, from 11 to 13 November 2025.

Conference Chair Professor Matthew Morell said the event would feature leading international and Australian scientific and industry voices.

“TropAg will bring together people advancing research with their industry and government colleagues to find solutions for the pressing challenges we face,” Professor Morell said.

“We must strengthen our agriculture and food industries while also delivering on consumer expectations that we do so in ways that are environmentally and socially equitable.

“The clock is ticking, but our ambitions are lofty, and we are making progress.

“TropAg is an important opportunity for the best minds to collaborate and ensure the innovations we work to create each day become a reality.”

Six plenary speakers will outline current and future challenges, while 27 symposia sessions will share solutions across three key themes: Future foods, Growing agriculture, and Climate and sustainability.

“Future foods, with support from FaBA which is Australia’s Food and Beverage Accelerator, will focus on innovative food and manufacturing to give consumers choice while ensuring sustainable food production to feed a growing global population,” Professor Morell said.

“Growing agriculture, is about resilience, opportunity and walking with First Nations people to capture commercial, social and environmental value through food, fibre and fuel supply chains.

“And of course, with Climate and sustainability, supported by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), we’re tackling the urgent need to mitigate the impacts of climate change while adapting strategies to protect biodiversity and manage resources to safeguard ecosystems and livelihoods.

“TropAg is the leading agriculture and food conference in the Asia Pacific region and a rare chance to hear from world-leading scientists, researchers and industry leaders.

“The particular focus on tropical and sub-tropical agriculture makes TropAg a must-attend conference for our region and beyond.

“We’d like to see as many leaders in the field as possible at what is a new venue for this year’s conference.

In conjunction with our City Partner, the Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA), TropAg would like to welcome you to Brisbane in November.”

Conference registrations open March 24 with an early bird discount until 31 August 2025.

Abstract submissions are now open for the TropAg scientific committee to be considered for a symposium, oral or poster presentation. Abstract submissions close 28 April 2025.
