Minister visits QAAFI

The Honourable Mark Furner MP Queensland Minister for Agriculture Industry Development and Fisheries visited QAAFI on 2 July.

Today Minister Furner met with inspiring QAAFI researchers who featured in QAAFI's successful Women in Ag Research campaign. The campaign showcases women working across a range of different research careers available in the agriculture and food sector.

The visit was hosted by QAAFI Director Professor Robert Henry, and Minister Furner accompanied the Director of QAAFI’s newly launched Centre for Horticulture, Professor Neena Mitter, on a tour of the tissue culture facility and agricultural nanotechnology lab at the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus.

The Minister also congratulated women who appeared in the special edition of QAAFI's Innovation in Agriculture newsletter to celebrate International Women’s Day.
