Minister visits Health and Food Sciences Precinct

Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries Mark Furner, recently met with science leaders at the Health and Food Sciences Precinct to hear project updates, meet with research collaborators from QAAFI and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) and view the facilities.

The DAF-managed Health and Food Sciences Precinct, located at Coopers Plains in Brisbane is a state-of-the-art facility designed to service the needs of the Queensland and Australian food industries. The Precinct has a food grade pilot plant, food technology laboratories, and sensory facilities to conduct consumer trials for new products or processes. The Minister viewed an extensive range of food-grade processing equipment for handling seafood, meat, dairy, and horticulture products.
