William is a passionate plant molecular biologist with a strong interest in food security and translational research. William completed a degree in Plant Biotechnology with Honours at The University of Queensland in 2014, before starting his PhD with the Queensland Alliance of Agriculture and Food Innovation in 2016.

William currently investigates new ways to control root formation in plants a process which is vital to clonal propagation of elite tree varieties. William is applying his rooting research to the highly desirable Avocado species, in the hope of one day to increasing the supply of Avocado plants for Australian farmers.
