Dipika Roy is a PhD candidate under the supervision of Dr Lee Hickey at the Centre of Crop Science, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI) at University of Queensland, Australia. Before starting her PhD, she worked as Research Assistant in the Hickey Lab.

Dipika’s PhD research aims to provide a better understanding of the genes controlling spot blotch disease resistance, so that breeding programs can produce improved barley cultivars incorporating effective and durable genetic resistance to spot blotch.

Dipika graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Agriculture and Master of Science (M.S.) in Seed Science and Technology from Bangladesh.
