Astrid Coba is a PhD candidate in Swine Nutrition and Physiology with strong research expertise in the effects of heat stress on lactating sows. She holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Honours), majoring in Animal Science. Her doctoral research focuses on integrating nutritional strategies with proteomic and metabolomic approaches to uncover biomarkers of heat tolerance and metabolic adaptation. Astrid has led and supported animal trials involving pigs, chicks, and eggs, and has developed strong skills in animal handling, physiological data collection, and experimental design. She is passionate about animal welfare, research translation, and advancing sustainable livestock systems through science-driven innovation.
