Janet is a third year PhD candidate at the Centre for Horticultural Science. Her project aims to gain an understanding of subtropical disease drivers and behaviours of the pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense, the causal agent of Fusarium wilt/Panama disease in banana. The project will identify distribution of the pathogen, regions of concern, and virulence, all of which will help to improve disease management, and benefit the Australian banana industry.
