Researcher biography

Dr. Hung Hong completed his Ph.D. at The University of Queensland in 2016. He is an organic chemist and has extensive analytical experience in advanced chemical analysis techniques. He is a Research Fellow in the "Naturally Nutritious" project within the Centre for Nutrition & Food Sciences (CNAFS), Queensland Alliance for Agricultural and Food Innovation (QAAFI) and is based at the Health and Food Sciences Precinct (Cooper's Plains). He joined QAAFI in 2017 and has utilised advanced analytical techniques such as gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS-MS) and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to develop, modify and validate many methodologies for identification and quantification of targeted and untargeted phytochemicals, vitamins, organic acids, sugars and aflatoxins in complex food-related matrices. He is a key member of collaborative teams encompassing plant breeders, growers, food companies and other researchers.
